It's been so long since I posted, I almost forgot how to get on my blog.

I've be so busy with my etsy shops, what started as a hobby, has become a real JOB. Not that I'm complaining, it's alot of fun.

Britgal Designs is full of tea cosy's and lunch bags. Bubbles and Squeaks is loaded with adorable new blankets and baby items.

PAPER DOLL QUILT

I saw this adorable fabric at my local quilt store a few weeks ago. I just knew I had to have it! It's just too cute.
I started making it this morning around 10:30 and now it's 10:20PM and it's already done! Check out the doll clothes that go with it! Just precious.

Does this mean Spring is on the way?

It's so quiet - except for the ducks - they are making the loudest noise! Living beside a pond is supposed to be relaxing, but it sounds like there's a war going on out there. Soon there will be fluffy babies to watch - can't wait for Spring.

TOO NICE TO SEW

Today was the first day it actually felt warm outside, soooooooo, no sewing for me. Instead after a trip to Curves, grocery shopping, I vacuumed out my car - so much grit and salt from the trip to Chicago. I think they use different salt there, it's alot chunkier than our Columbus salt.
Then, out to shop a little - not for fabric though, I decided I NEEDED a sham-wow, so I now I have one (or should I say several)

Dresden Plate is Finished

It's finished. I hand quilted this one, it's for my friend Lorna. It has been named "Twenty Days in Provence" - it has 20 blocks, and she loves to travel in France (or anywhere in Europe for that matter) and she'll be there for three weeks this September. Hope she likes it.

Nothing new as far as quilting, still working on Lorna's quilt, have to finish it soon, it's been hanging around too long!

I did start making another Sylvia Bridal Quilt. Finished the first four blocks. I have one made already, I think they would be great momentos for my daughters once I'm gone.

I like the idea of leaving something behind for friends and family to remember me by. Of course I have no idea what happens to my quilts once they're given away - maybe there used as a dog bed!

I do find it difficult to part with them (that's why alot of them are here with me) I can only hope that they are loved as much as I have loved making them.

It's been a while since I updated so here goes - Sorry if this is dis-jointed, just adding things as I think of them.

first, I have been working on a quilt for my friend Lorna, her birthday is coming up soon, so I am busy putting the quilting into it - by hand! It's slow going but I think it will be done in time.

Also finished the Sunbonnet Sue quilt for my daughters friend Elizabeth, who at this very moment is in Korea meeting her daughter Elena, she should be home in Milwaukee soon. Looking forward to seeing pictures.

My daughters and I are planning a trip to Japan in August - what fun! I am looking forward to seeing Japan of course, but spending time with my "girls" will be priceless - we've never had a vacation together - just us girls. (Rachel, Amanda and Mom gone wild!!)

Max is doing well at his new job as sous chef for Bon Vie, sometimes he seems tired but then restaurant hours are not the best. He has his dog Bernie waiting for him at home - what a funny dog, he's half pug/half french bull dog - really cute and has the sweetest disposition of any dog I know. He loves to visit "grandma" and terrorize my little Fritzie.

Just finished this quilt. The block was taken from the Sylvia Bridal Quilt, some of the blocks were done in New Zealand when I went to visit my sister this Spring. I hand quilted it. It's an odd size, it covers the top of my queen bed.

As of today I have 102 blocks completed. Having daughter Rachel with her husband Chris here along with darling grand daughter Felicity, it makes it near impossible to sew at all. Still was able to spend an hour or so in the sewing room today.
I would like to get Sylvia completed by mid June. Then on to other projects.
I sent the dresden plate out to be quilted, I'm looking forward to seeing it, I am planning on putting a scalloped edge on (the first one I've attempted.
I'm on the lookout for the next quilt idea/pattern.

These are a few quilts that I have made over the past few years. Many of my quilts are given away as gifts.

Currently I am working on three quilts. The Sylvia bridal quilt - I started working on this around the first of the year after seeing a post on the HG-TV website. There are several women (I think they're all women) making the quilt. It's been a fun experience seeing all the blocks that have been made so far. I project that it will be finished by the end of the summer. I am pondering as to how I would like quilt the quilt when it's finished. It's by far the most complicated quilt I have done so far.

The other quilt under construction is a Grandma Flower Garden quilt. I had made the block for the Sylvia quilt and liked making it so much that I made more and more and more. Now I have about 40 blocks made. I have enjoyed making these here in the USA and also in New Zealand when I visited my sister and her family... I think I made several in the Fiji Islands and also over the Pacific Ocean.

Another quilt under construction is a Dresden

Plate quilt. The top was originally finished and the quilted already started, it looked terrible, the quilting was uneven and lumpy. I decided to take it apart and re-do the whole thing. Now I am on the search for the perfect background fabric - do I want a solid or a soft print, decisions decisions.
